Incorporated in1978 as the Urban Cultural Arts Foundation, the William H. Thomas Art Gallery a well-known community based gallery dedicated to bringing the arts into the center of urban Columbus for over 33 years. The gallery has hosted a variety of artists from the local community, throughout the nation as well as from Africa, Europe and Asia and has received numerous awards and recognitions.
Each year, the gallery hosts WORKSHOPs for children, teens, adults and seniors of diverse backgrounds, THINK TANKs, PRODUCTIONS and the annual AFRICAN VILLAGE ARTS FESTIVAL held since 2007. It also presents up to four EXHIBITS that run for ten weeks and are launched with an opening reception on the third Sunday of the named month from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
